How to get to Senso-ji

The easiest way is the train. Four lines serve a station called Asakusa: the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, the Toei Asakusa Line, the Tobu Skytree Line and, separately, the Tsukuba Express. The temple gives about 5 minutes on foot from the Asakusa stations. The shared name does not mean one shared station entrance, so check which exit you need.

From there the route is simple. You walk to the Kaminarimon, pass through Nakamise-dori and reach the main hall. The address is 2-3-1 Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo 111-0032, if you want to put it into a map app.

The four lines and their exits

All four stop at Asakusa. The walking times to the information center opposite the Kaminarimon are a guide, not times to the main hall.

The Tsukuba Express station is the farthest of the four. The Ginza and Toei exits are the closest to the gate. Some escalators on the Ginza Line lead to exits 1, 2 and 3. If you need a step-free route, plan it before you travel. A street elevator alone does not mean the whole way from the platform is step-free.
