Tokyo Skytree in short
The Tokyo Skytree is a broadcasting tower with two observation levels, the Tembo Deck at 350 m and the Tembo Galleria at 450 m. It stands across the Sumida from Asakusa and is not part of Senso-ji. Most visitors combine the two in one day: the temple in the morning, the tower in the afternoon or at dusk.
Prices changed on 1 April 2026. The old fixed rates for weekdays and holidays no longer apply. Each day now has its own price, so the same ticket costs different amounts on different days. There is no single fixed price any more.

Age rules and the on-site fee
The details that change what you pay.
Adults and children
Adults are 15 and older. Children are 6 to 14. Children aged 5 and younger are free, and so are 6-year-olds who have not started school. A 15-year-old in junior high school still pays the child rate. The old middle category for teenagers no longer exists.
Buying on site
A ticket bought at the counter or the machines on the 4th floor costs JPY 500 more per ticket. The Galleria add-on inside the Deck does not carry that fee, and the disability rates are exempt. No flat online fee applies to web tickets.
Disability rates
The rate covers the listed certificates and the same number of companions as eligible guests. Check in advance whether a certificate issued outside Japan is accepted.
Booking ahead
Web advance sale exists, and you can also buy at the tower. There is no general duty to book ahead, but a ticket does not guarantee that you enter without waiting.

Opening hours and views
Hours depend on the day.
The tower publishes its hours in an online calendar, day by day. Last entry is one hour before closing. Weekday and weekend hours differ, so check the calendar for your date rather than relying on a general figure. A clear view of Mount Fuji cannot be promised on any day.
If you only want a free view over Asakusa, the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center opposite the Kaminarimon has a terrace on the 8th floor. It is open from 09:00 to 22:00, free, and the information desk runs from 09:00 to 20:00. It can close for maintenance. The Sumida Park along the Taito riverside has riverside paths with a view of the tower. It is also a cherry blossom spot in spring and can be crowded then. See Shibuya's viewpoints if you want a second high view of Tokyo.
From Senso-ji to the Skytree
One walk, one boat, or a mix of both.
On foot
The tower gives about 20 minutes from Senso-ji and about 15 minutes from the general Asakusa area. The route runs from Asakusa along the Sumida River Walk and Tokyo Mizumachi to Skytree Town, with shops and places to eat under the elevated tracks.
By train
The Tobu Skytree Line, the Ginza Line and the Toei Asakusa Line all stop at Asakusa. Our getting there guide lists the stations, exits and fares.
On the water
Boats leave from Asakusa on the Sumida. They are a separate trip, not a transfer ticket to the tower. Fares and the current limits are in the Sumida water bus section.
A half day in the east
Start at the Kaminarimon and walk through Nakamise-dori to the main hall. Then walk to the river and on to the tower. Build in rest stops, because the temple grounds and the tower both involve time on your feet.

Tokyo Skytree: frequently asked questions
How much are Tokyo Skytree tickets in 2026?
An adult Tembo Deck ticket costs JPY 1,800 to 3,600 on the web, depending on the day. Deck and Galleria together cost JPY 3,000 to 4,800. Child tickets are half of those ranges. The day's exact price is in the tower's online calendar.
Why do the prices on older pages differ?
Fixed rates for weekdays and holidays were replaced on 1 April 2026 by day-based prices.
Is it cheaper to buy online?
Yes. At the counter or the machines on the 4th floor, each ticket costs JPY 500 extra. The disability rates and the Galleria add-on inside the Deck are exempt.
Do I need to reserve a time slot?
There is no general duty to book ahead, and you can buy a ticket at the tower. An advance web ticket does not guarantee entry without a wait, so allow some time at busy hours.
How far is the Skytree from Senso-ji?
About 20 minutes on foot. The route passes the river on the Asakusa side and ends at Skytree Town. The walk is not a measured step-free route.
Are the Skytree and Senso-ji connected?
No. The Skytree is a separate tower with its own tickets. Senso-ji is a Buddhist temple with free entry to the grounds and the main hall. See the Senso-ji guide for the temple.
